Hi all,
Having taken on a plot that hadn't been worked for years i had many brambles/ blackcurrent, coach grass and weeds to deal with. I cleared, rotovated and marked out the paths with weed membrane. I have since hand weeded with a trowel taking out what roots etc best i could.
I have aquired a large amount of 2 year old horse manure which i'm putting down as a mulch. I will then cover with more membrane and plant straight through it to take care of existing weeds.
Is it ok to plant straight into the mulch or should i dig in manure at planting?
These are the veg i'll grow through the membrane, will these grow ok:
Onions, garlic and shallots
Sweet corn
Brassicas
Potatoes(through black plastic)
Squash, pumkin, Courgete
Peas
Peppers
Perenial Herbs(rosemary, tyme etc)
This is my first year growing so all advice for this novice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
