We have 21 plots and 5 mains fed water troughs with balcocks. All water must be carried by hand but because of the slope, some siphoning is allowed (it's actually slower than using cans but you can be doing something else at the same time!) I have used in the past a 12v bilge pump running of the car fag lighter to pump water from the trough uphill to fill a dustbin that had five taps and hoses coming off it, but it was a lot of faff and now I do it all by cans.
