  • advice on forming an allotment association

my local parish councill have sent me a letter asking if the allotment holders of our small allotment would like to set up an association.they have offered use of the council chambers for a meeting to discuss the subject.whilst i think this is a good idea being such a small group i can see eventually there would be a split of them and us situation.has any one any views on the pros and cons, or experiances of what happened after forming an association
a good put down line to use !

I think our local council insists on Allotment Asociations................ to cut down on Council expenditure.

They give our Association a three year tenancy agreement, setting out what can and can't be done (12 pages long), they take a rent for the site, and the rest has to be done by the Association.

Very little input from the Council and they recieve a big fat payment in rent each year from each Association!
