Re making my own compost is there anything in particular that I should pop in the compost bin, anything I should avoid saving?

there are plenty of posts with detailed information but as a main tip i would try to layer my compost with different materials, a mix of green and woody to avoid it becoming compacted. Avoid most things of non vegetable or plant origin.
