When i took on my half plot i sat down with pencil and paper and thought about what i really love to eat, what my family and i would eat year on year.
I then thought about the space these crops would need and went up the plot and measured.
Sat down with graph paper and pencil and planned out my beds, i don't have them all in just a few, will add others as i get more confident and know what grows where, so i have a chunk at the moment for spuds to help break up the soil and a chunk for growing climbing crops, beans, peas, courgettes and outdoor cucumbers.
Alot depends on the time you have to give to your plot, i am free time poor at the moment so i have put down black plastic to suppress the weeds on alot of my plot until i have time to cultivate it.
It is all depending on your circumstances and how soon and what you want to grow.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
