  • Rhubarb Leaves

Has anyone any idea what is eating my Rhubarb Leaves? I was under the impression that they were poisonous. Something has completely eaten one or two of them.

Rhubarb leaves are indeed poisonous to humans, Cousin Jack, however clearly not to everything!

I don't know what's eating them (maybe slugs or snails?) but a hail storm or heavy rain will certainly damage the leaves.

How well established is the crown, and how many of the leaves are affected, and by how much? I don't think that any leaf damage will affect the plants significantly, so I don't think that you need to worry to much.

Could we sell slugs to france as "oven ready snails"?
