Leeks, lettuce and rocket for me!

At least thats the plan until someone tells me I've got it wrong. Could I get away with spinach too?

Squash and pumpkins go in my gaps. I sow them mid-May so they are not too big by early July when the ground is clear

      ---------

having said that, my Gold Rush courgettes and Crown Prince squash have failed to make an appearance. So I've just ordered more from Vegetable seeds from 59p packet

I had to spend £30 in order to get free P&P. (t'wasn't hard)

After japanese onions, spotted with leeks and possibly interspaced with lollo rossa

Potatoes, followed by brassicas for t'winter

We've had a bed covered in cardboard, which I am putting spuds in grown from potato sprouts that have been grown on in roottrainers; planted through the card.

pumpkins and winter squashes are going on corners.

        Still pondering the rest

i saw the dual cropping sticky message, asked for other ideas
so i'll be replacing some spuds with leeks, some with pumpkins and butternut squash, some with lettuce followed by autumn onion sets, and some with winter cabbage
hopefully it'll keep that bed in use all year

I think this year there'll be lots of greens for the chooks - and much more netting!

I'm going to put fast growers like salads in the gaps while I wait for my leeks to get big enough. I was late sowing the leeks this year so they are not as big as the usually are. When the salads are done, the leeks will go in.

Still working on clearing and planting a row at a time on the rough parts of the plot, using spuds to break up the worst of it mostly, then planting something in after.

I had some success with them started in modules last year which were harvested up until quite recently!

I think I'm going to plant celeriac and pumpkins this year to replace the spuds, and cavolo nero (tuscan kale) in the onion bed. I've got some romanesco to squeeze in somewhere too.
I'm doing a lot of catch crops and intercropping because I've gone a bit crazy this year, got a bit overexcited with the seed catalogue!
