Grapes Allotments - Before And After

This is a thread suggested by Mrs Dobby, where we can all post 'before and after' pictures of our plots, so that we can show what's possible and be proud of what we've achieved
It doesn't have to be just allotments, if you've transformed your garden into a lovely veg plot we'd like to see that too


If you add your pictures as Attachments, it will make it easier for anyone on a slow internet connection, rather than if you add them as IMG files which can take a long time to load.

We bought our place 2 years ago and it was a wreck - the garden's still not finished and I'm still learning. Here are some pics of the garden about 4 weeks into clearing and after hundreds of filled rubble sacks and lots of bonfires.....

Here are mine

Picture 1 is our first plot, although it doesn't look very overgrown that's because it was February so the docks, horsetail, couch grass, dandelions etc weren't in full growth. And you can't see all the half buried plastic, bricks, broken glass...

And the next one is it last year, about 18 months after we got it, with all the beds planted up and the greenhouse full.

Picture 3 is our second plot which we started looking after last year when the old chap who had it was very ill. We took over the tenancy in May. Picture 4 was taken a few days ago.

Amanda, Sarah - wow. Am very impressed and can only think you are both much younger than me and have considerably more energy!

Amanda - is the "after" shot the same part of the garden as one of the "befores"?

These are some pictures of my allotment in South Oxfordshire. The first was taken about 4 years ago, the second was taken a year later and the last one was taken a few weeks ago. It has taken a lot of hard work but has been worth it!

Excellent idea for a thread.....will have to dig out some piccies of my allotment and if possible stages it went through until present day................now where's me camera at?

Looking at everyone elses achievement it will be a hard act for me to follow though!

Plot number 2 (Our first plot!)

Ok then, first couple are from september September 2006, the last few are what it now looks like, 3 years on..............

I'm well impressed I know from having my own allotment I had to clear there are no shortcuts when clearing it is all just hard work
