Spotty cabbages

Have been downto the allotment and the cabbages have brown spots!! Dows this mean that they can't be used? After all Tesco's don't seem to have this problem .
Please help before I do something the family may not forgive me for!!!

Cut one & take the outer guard leaveds off & see what it's like inside SS. I suspect it's just damage of some kind & the heart will be fine.
