Newbie allotment for newbie grape

I lost my allotment virginity on Thursday and am now going halves on 15m by 5m plot. Its a brand new plot, so spent the last few days digging out bricks and assorted rubble (day off with bad back today, and it is my birthday). Those awfully nice people from the council will be giving it a once over with a rotavter in a weeks time. So what next? Provided I can prepare the soil for seeding what can I get going now, or is it too late?

Welcome to the vine Muguruki, commiserations on your bad back but congratulations on getting an allotment and of course on your birthday!

By the time you get it sorted it will be just in time for winter planting! Spring cabbage and Japanese onion sets would be a good start along with broad beans.
So there's a start from the three main groups, brassicas,roots and legumes! Only grow what you and your family like though!
Of course there's loads more you can plant.......just have a look through some of the threads and ask questions!

Start doing your winter seedlings at home right now so you'll be ready to plant them out. Welcome and have fun! Put some radishes and lettuces in so you have something quick growing though also
