  • What to plant in July/August?

What would people recommend I plant right now - some for quick results and some for over winter?

Also what unusual vegetables have people tried and had success with?

Do you have a garden, an allotment, pots and tubs or what. Also where are you - county/town. If you add your location to your profile it will show on your posts and helps a lot when giving advice

Sorry - I am in Yorkshire. I have a new allotment which I am currently clearing of weeds. I want to get some quick results to give me encouragement

      Thanks

I am planting winter cabbages bought as plants rather than using seeds, I have put in Brussel sprouts, and today will be putting in red cabbage and cauliflower, I also have put in 80 leeks over the last couple of weeks. I plant my onion sets in the autumn and broad bean seeds. Hope this help.
        Happy planting.

You might get in a crop of French beans - they're quite quick and also some carrots - I planted a row of Autumn King 2 a couple of days ago - more in hope than expectation! You could buy some brassica plants from a GC - cauli, sprouts, calabrese etc. Kohlrabi are quite quick too. Wyevale have a half price offer on seeds at the moment - if you have one near you it makes experimentation much cheaper!!
