Can you use a polytunnel on an allotment or are there any rules against it? I am planning ahead with neither an allotment or polytunnel yet.

Its a site by site thing. Most sites you would be fine but there are some that will restrict structures of any size. Check with the allotment sites you're interested in. -

We have to ask permission but they always say yes so long as you don't put it right along the border with your neighbours. But as already said, it varies site by site and it's worth checking before you consider buying.
