Hello,
I'm busy planning my new allotment and want to get some fruit bushes in. I was wondering if anyone could recommend varieties, and the other thing I was wondering was how many bushes?? I take it autumn is the time to be thinking about planting canes? What sort of preparation will they need?
I was thinking of getting some autumn raspberries - Autumn Bliss plus the golden version; some gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants and blackberries (or will these brambles just take over the plot?!). I'd also like some blueberries but am I right in thinking these do better in containers as they like acid soil?
I'd also like a strawberry patch, but again I'm unsure of size / how many plants and varieties!
