Allotment clearance - from a complete novice!!

Thanks for all your advice, it seems as with most things in live there are no short cuts!!

I'll cancel my digger tomorrow, i think i will head up there half a day at the weekend and dig one raised bed in, i have plenty of cardboard after my recent house move, so at least i will get to clear all that from the garage as well.

I've just downloaded a planting calendar, at least that way i can dig and start planting month by month.

The exercise might do me good as well!!

hiya i got an allotment in january this year and it was full of rubbish and weeds too. i have spent all this year treating about two thirds of it with systemic weedkiller (b&qs own is cheapest) i have killed all the weeds and now am digging for next year. the other third i grew potatoes on and killed regrowth, its hard work but in the end will be worth it.
