Hi guys, I need some rotted stuff for my soil, but I don't wanna pay b q prices. I'm gonna swing by some farms and scoop some fresh stuff for next year, but obviously need lots for this year.

Does anybody know of any place in the Glasgow/surrounding area which does bags of the good stuff cheaply (pound a bag?)?

anywhere you see a field of horses will have more dung than they know what to do with. I'd suggest you drive up, put on your best smile and just ask! i know if someone knocked my door i'd be delighted to let them take as much as they wanted FOC!

Earlier this year I contacted a local stables, they were glad to get rid of their manure. I got a whole trailer - load delivered onto the corner of my plot. That's about 8 tons!. It was free, but I gave the driver a fiver for his trouble
The manure was fairly fresh, but at that price....
I spread it and dug it in, and was growing beans, courgettes, cabbages soon afterwards with no problems
