Not in work today so this was my first chance to make it up to the lottie in daylight since the snow (makes me even more certain that my decision not to keep chooks up there was a good one). Wanted to check everything was OK even though there was nothing much that could be done in the way of gardening. Anyway, beautiful though it was I have no idea what any of the crops look like as they're snug under their snowy blankets. Some cloches have collapsed due to the weight of the snow so I've cleared them a bit but at least it was basically sound. Had to use some of the flask of hot water to unfreeze the shed lock though as I couldn't even get the key in there

Snowy lottie

Do you do car washes from your shed Alison?
My various locks on chook coops have been left undone for a week now because they froze up. Even as I get a hold of them to take them off they are sticking to my hands with the frost! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Thanks for posting photos, Alison - I always enjoy seeing other grapes' allotments, whatever the weather. It was a really nice day for your pictures too, and I can tell how organised it all is.
I don't need to worry about shed locks freezing up because the last load of vandals stole the lock (and hasp!). This has made me decide I'm going to walk up to mine tomorrow and take pics!!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Tyres, the ones on the left have strawberries in them and the others are weighting down some tarps. If the snow ever goes and the ground unfreezes then the spare ones will be used for some more strawberries and there will be a polytunnel where the tarp is at the moment. At the moment have no idea when this might happen
PS - like the idea of donuts that size.....
