Drying beans.

Hi Everyone,
Little bit of advice/opinion/experience needed please. I always grow a lot of beans each year, french climbing and dwarf, broad and runner and also some soya but this year I'd like to grow some specifically for drying. We use mostly blackeye beans in the kitchen so I'm looking for something similar but they must be dwarf. Can anyone offer any advice on what they have successfully grown and dried and enjoyed eating in the past? Thank you

Any dwarfs to be honest; it depends on what you can get hold of.

My two successes have been pintos and black beans; both from soup mixes bought in the shops. You can plant them in blocks rather than lines, contain them in canes with string circled round them and leave them until they all mature and harvest them in one go. Easy!!!

I grow 'early warwick' and 'tendergreen' as dwarf beans for drying. Well actually, I grow them for eating fresh, but they are so prolific there's loads left for drying too.
