  • Ooooh! I got THE phone call...

I got the phone call that I was top of the list of our local private allotment site.

I'll get a chance to have a look at the allotments in the next couple of weeks to decide with 1/2 plot I'd like. Oooh! sooo excited.

I am so excited. Somehow this year, things seems to be a bit easier.

Oh yeah, and I was shocked to hear that the council charges £80 for council allotments.

How fab Tiachia - does that mean your plot is going to be £40 for the year? It sounds like there are some amenities on the site as well - secure fencing, a toilet, water on each plot? Do take your camera with you when you go to inspect - I'd love to see what you get!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

congrats take pics not just for the nosy people but to refer back to when planning and so when it seems there is so much to do you can look back and see how far you've come.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

The £80 is actually for the council site. The allotment I have been offered is on the private allotment area and is £20 a year, including security fencing.

Its a fantastic feeling isn't it? Just like birthdays and christmas all rolled up into one. If you are only getting half a plot (like wot I got) I pay half. Even so, £40 seems a bit steep. Having said that though, I'd still pay it.

Good luck - can't wait to see your photos. BTW I took photos of my lottie before, during and after all my hard work, and it's brill to see the fruits (and veg) of all my hard work.
