    This what i`d plan to try and grow for my first year,with the weather being so lousy it been very trying on the patience so heres my list i`d appreciate any advice

    Sweetcorn-going to start in peat pots in airing cupboard

    Cabbage/cauli /beetroot going to start one tray indoors plant out hopefully in late March

    Leeks/Carrots/Parsnips/raddish gonna sow hopefully later in March

    What should i cloche?

    i`m also thinking of blackberrys and strawberry what the best plan for them

    it is my first year i`m itching to get going

    I take it you have no greenhouse/coldframe ?
    If it were me I'd be thinking of perhaps...

    Leeks: Start in box/pots now, set out in July...don't need much heat.(can be done under cloche nowish too)
    Summer Cabbage and cauli: Sow in modules from now... a few each week over 6 weeks (spread harvest as you tend to end up with too many ready at the same time)...again not too much heat.
    Carrots parsnips...anytime soon under cloches
    beetroot can be started in modules too... but I'd leave them for a few weeks yet and sow direct.
    Forget the sweetcorn till April.

      You should also consider planting onions (from sets and seeds), garlic and chitting potatoes now. Greeens wise, lettuce, chard and spinach in modules to go out in a few weeks.
