  • Got myself a patch!

I'm over the moon after being offered a half plot on a site only 15 minutes walk from me.
I viewed the plot on friday and signed up right away I couldn't get down there this past weekend as i was away, but i'm itching to get down to some work this coming weekend.

The plot is 137 sq mts and has a shed and water very close by. And i think i'm lucky its not in too bad a state. There seems to be some fruit bushes and rhubarb, so as a newbie i'm more than happy to take advice on what to do.

I started to grow some veg last year after tasting a friends home grown veg, i just couldn't believe how good it tasted and wanted to grow my own.

I grew some climing french beans and let some go to seed for this year and some tomatoes which turned out to be full of flavour compared to shop bought.
I tried potatoes in patio planters as well.

So my head is full of stuff to plant and i'm more than sure i will make plenty of mistakes, but i'm looking forward to the adventure.

I went to wilko and now have Kestrel and Maris Piper chitting.

Turbo onion sets and Red Sun Shallots and some spring planting Garlic as well as a number of packets of seeds to try.
So its really all new to me but i will keep you all posted.

How fab, Smudger - you will have it all productive in no time! I predict that you'll have to drop the d in smudger for your vine name! (Smug-er?) - you'll be that chuffed with the outcome... I know I would.
