My plot is really sodden and puddles of water today i planted 4 rows of peas but i put fleece over them.I am worried that with it being so wet if it freezes will it kill off any germination from the peas.
Thanks

I think I would give it a few days and then start some off inside. Then if the outside ones fail you still have a backup group waiting in the wings, great as well for filling any gaps.

They are in raised beds but the water in most of the plot is about a spade depth. If i dig a hole 1 spade deep it quickly fills with water. The plot next to me has water puddles lying on the top.I am at the bottom the whole allotments run south to north on a slope. The plots run west to east and i am the bottom in the far corner. So it all runs downhill that is why i put in raised beds.I just thought the ground was too wet and nothing was draining away. But i might wait a couple of weeks and resow in the greenhouse
Thanks for all the help

If it's a regular occurence I think I would be putting my name down for another allotment plot. Have you been there long and was it like this last year or is this just a one off do you think?
It sounds as though most of your sowings are going to have to be in pots/trays/modules and planted out once the tide subsides!

I got the plot in august 2008 so i have had two winters one dry 08 and one constant rain and snow.Last year was my first full year great crop of potatoes, peas, beans, leeks and rhubarb everything else was poor or eaten by slugs i got a little spring onions and beetroot but everything else failed but not through drowning
