Thought so! Aways a pleasure to meet someone of restricted height like mesel!

Lottie looks encouraging - is it bigger or smaller than your current plot?

oh, I hadn't thought of doing that - do you think that is the best way to go?

Nar, Piskie - you don't know what is in your lottie - you need to work with it for a while before you go into blitz it mode.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Agree with Jeanie . You don't want to be chopping up bits of couch grass or horsetail , that'd just make it worse. Section off areas and go over them one by one , and covering them as well .

Certainly takes the backache out of it!...however I'm afraid like with so many things...the hard way is the best way.

It's going to be a slowish year this first one anyway - what with moving at a time when all things should be full-steam ahead, so I guess I can wait to see what unfolds. Fingers crossed nothing evil shows up!

My first plan is to get the raised beds down on the lottie, I had always used these in military properties because is never there long enough to get the (always clay!) soil improved.

It's not the cheapest way but it is the quickest in terms of getting going.

I have several bags of home-grown compost to throw into them along with the Bedfordshire sandy loam
