I'm planning to convince Countrywide grounds maintenance to provide a turf cutter for a start. It's all down to the water supply really! That will cost the most, unless my begging letters work!

You could get away with no water supply. Are there any nearby structures to collect rainwater from, and anywhere to store it? Any new sheds or greenhouses can help provide water too.

If there's no other option, a plastic sheet on a slope, running into some receptacle at the bottom would do.

Don't you think the chooks might find the aircraft a little disturbing? This is a RAF base after all.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Just had another idea Piskie - something I'd do if I had the room - why not grow a row of hazels for coppicing for your own pea sticks and beanpoles for the site?

Love the support, and especially the idea of copicing Hazel. Something that I've considered for my plot at home.

Any form of livestock might be just pushing the boundaries a little, we'll plan for a number of 5 pole plots (maybe 10 of them, but depending upon how much interest we get), a BBQ area, and an orchard for starters!

                          Any good designers out there?
