What should I take?

Hi all, I'm preparing for my first real visit to my new lottie, and was wondering what I should be taking? Have packed some of the obvious stuff, like a spade, fork, hoe, shears, watering can, hand fork; but can't think of what other sundry items I should be taking. Its about 15 miles away so really don't want to be forgetting anything important! There is no mains water or electricity, so it will have to be a flask instead of a kettle, although thankfully I have relatives across the road from the site so can get a top up!
What bits and pieces do you guys always have on hand?

Depends on what you plan to do. I find it's best to have a definite objective in mind and get that done other wise you can easily get sidetracked. By having a clear list of things to do then you will know what tools to take too.

I always take a plastic bin bag for any rubbish that can't be composted. If the plot is already productive take another bag to bring home any produce that you may be lucky enough to find. Depending on the weather in your area, a sun block/moisturiser may be useful; I've lost count of the number of times I've come home with a red face and arms either from the not too apparant sun or the wind. Gardening gloves, and now from experience, I always have some sticking plasters handy! A ball of twine or string to tie up anything that needs tying up, I don't always need it but somehow it makes me feel like a 'proper' gardener to have it in my pocket.

No matter what you take you will find you have left something behind lol
For future will you be allowed a shed, if so you would be able to put a camping stove in and take water with you.
Most of all have fun.

A penknife (Swiss Army - or my late father-in-law's v. old bone handled one). Invaluable for cutting anything and harvesting the veg!

Sorry should have explained better,all my beds are raised so i staple my string to the beds to mark the lines for my seeds

These are all great idea's, thanks! have been over today and found that the previous tenant has decided to leave her shed for me, plus 3 water butts already rigged up. I will def take the camping stove and a bottle of water now!
