  • I have my second plot !

    Well nearly,

The lady next to my plot has two plots herself and hasn't done anything with one of them for 2 years.

I think she had a letter recently as she asked me if i wanted to use it as she was going to give it up after this season. She has paid the rent for this year because she has her shed on it and cant move it till she moves house and wants to put it in her garden.

I am on the waiting list for a second plot so I phoned the council and they are happy with me taking it over. The lady has emailed them to confirm and the council have transferred into my name.

I have agreed to let her keep the shed on the plot till she moves house and have paid her half this years rent. Seems fair to us both.

    I have measured it 58ft by 18ft.

Going down there today to asses what needs doing !
You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

..what are you thiking of growing on it??

In a former life we took on our third full plot to plant fruit trees and bushes- and had we stayed there, my OH was intending to put hives on it!

My neighbour (pleasant though he is) has three quite large plots. Each has something planted but up to a third of the space is empty overall. My plot is 30x21 feet an a second one I have is about half that. I am desperate for more room. He was talking of giving up one plot but after I expressed an interest, seemingly changed his mind. Wouldn't you think he might offer me a little temporary space to grow stuff for maybe a small summer crop.People are funny. And no I would not ask him!!

Some people are funny sometimes like big kids, they dont want it but dont want anyone else to have it !

This is a rough plan so far, not sure if I will put another shed on when she moves hers. The new beds will be raised without edging.

The Berry ( not sure which colour yet) and rubarb are already there.
