  • Our First Allotment Party

I suggested ages ago that we have a lotty get togetherl because I only know my immediate neighbours (my plot doesn't get passing traffic).
So it was suggested back that I organise it

I like things simple, so I just typed out a notice saying meet here, last Sunday of the month, bring a bottle & a dish to share. Don't bring old arguments and grudges'

I have some bread on the go, homebrew is chilling ... I'll let you know how it goes.

Hope it turns out well. It's too b****y hot for me to go to mine at the mo - you know how sheltered it is. Will go over this evening.

Hmm - maybe the footie will mean fewer allotmenteers showing up? Hope not - hope it goes really well for you TS. But at least there will be a good reason if they don't!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

We (16 or so) went from 6pm till 8pm and left the old-timers there, shooting the breeze!
Shirl's fruit tea wine went down a storm: several requests for recipe; nobody ate my strawbs (I think we're all sick of them already).

Lovely evening: we left them all sitting in the sun valiantly trying to empty the cooler box

Great idea there Two Sheds. You might just have started an honoured tradition! (My daughter reckons if you do something more than twice it's a tradition!)

                          We`re having one too

Two_Sheds I think your get together`s are a great idea, we are having one on our site on the 18th July, it`s to do with the Eden project`s "The big lunch" and if ours is a success, then maybe it will happen again next year..
