progress and more progress...
my other half (the one who keeps taking the micky out of me for having an allotment) has been very helpful, not bad since he started off saying he was never going to help! he's just a little too helpful, he's getting slightly bossy about where things should be placed! he even said that he would take the spare shed key and water the plants on his way home from work!
he was going to rotavate the beds i had marked out, but decided to get his gardening friend to do it for me instead, i went there today and he has rotavated 8 out of the 12 beds, very pleased with what he has done, the ground is soooooo hard though, so hopefully all the rain we're due 2moro might really help! i tod him to leave the other beds as i only have enough plants for three of the beds, i think i'll put some black sheets down over the rotavated and unrotavated beds. can i mix in some manure first, before putting the sheets down? ready for next year?
i went down to the lottie yesterday evening at 6.30 and didnt leave until 8.30, time flies on the lottie. so enjoying it!
my lotty neighbours are very lovely, one gave me some runner beans and courgette plants and told me all about the soil, the free manure and the rabbits that live under my shed!!! the other is lottie sitting for his dad and is quite a laugh, lovely old arthur went on monday and mowed the whole of my allotment for me and alan today said he would help me with making raised beds!
lovely lovely folk, who are making me smile quie alot! and my son is absolutely loving the allotment too and has named it "Rabbit Hideout. B.1-17"
sorry, bit of a pointless post, but just wanted to share my allotment love!
