Raised Beds

The water table under our plot is very near the surface, so though it rarely needs watering in summer, it's under water for most of the winter.
We're gradually raising all the beds and topping them up with a mix of top soil, compost from our bins and FYM.
Only a few left to do later this year and then we'll be able to overwinter brassicas and try Japanese onions!

Thank you, I'm still getting to grips with threads and forums!
I can't claim credit for the beds though, the King of Spades does most of the hard work for me, I plan and plant and we both harvest and eat it!

My last plot was like that- next to a peat bog!!!!
Raised beds certainly did the trick
We were able to start off earlier because the soil wasn't waterlogged- and had longer in the autumn to clear the beds.
Rubbish for the Asparagus though!

On our new plot have had to make four raised beds (the length of the plot but only about four feet wide so you can get to them from either side) as the plot previously had a large apple tree which was cut down about four years ago. Have built the raised beds up as there was no way that the plot could be dug as there's too many tree roots left.

I had the same problem with my plot, being on a slop, I had to raised the whole of the bottem end of my plot, paths included, it took lots of hard work but it worked, so well done to you and the other half of Spades.
That second pic looks like you have had a good frost..

looks great I would think if the waterlogging in winter is cured and the summer watering reduction stays you will have a really productive season
