Setting up an association.

Well, the title says it all.
General advice would be useful but specifically:

How much do most people pay for association subs? Three pounds or so, or more?

What are the advantages in belonging to NSALG? I can't really see much advantage, £2 seems a relatively large sum. Please tell me I'm wrong and why.

I think we've got the constitution sorted, short and simple seems best, after downloading dozens of constutions and rules from various associations who have websites and boggling over detail.

As Secretary or our allotments association, membership of the NSALG has advantages and no disadvantages I can think of. For your £2, you get legal advice, it puts off anyone wanting to mess the gardeners around (council, landlord etc). You get cheap top quality seeds/plants etc from Kings, plus a chance to go to meetings regularly where you meet other plot holders, all of whom have been there, done it and will offer all the advice they can. GO FOR IT, it's worth the effort!

NASLG membership is well worth it just for the insurance and as Norm said all advantages no disadvantages.
