          Hello guys/ladies

went down the lottie today and carried on filling in this second hole and im sooo worried about the amount of earth will be left with no holes to fill, but to top that off shalots i have seen no sign of growth of activity yet but i do not know how long this will take. BUT all my onions bar a few have all sprouted and look lovely several already have 3 green shoots coming out the top

will get pictures for you over the weekend when i go back to do a bit more

also found loads of wild rhubard in edging of the allotments where gates are plus wild horse radish

          thx
          regards

Hi Insy, good to hear from you again. Glad it's going well. Don't worry about your shallots, I'm sure they'll sprout soon.

"wild" or neighbours rhubarb? Sorted though if you can split the rhubarb (not sure when's the best time, nor if you need to ask if it's a neighbours ) - no cost there!

Looks good, are you able to reach the centre of the beds without standing on the soil? Forgot this thread was going on until I saw rusty's reply!

Lol i can lean over using hand on paths as leverage i was picking slight weed out the onions today doing so, and they are wild like the horse radish

Once this second hole filled in and other half shallots and garlic is planted, i will be starting my rhubard bed only thing is what size bed will i need for 6 - 8 rhubarb plants? and how big will my bed have to be for 32 strawberry plants

                thx
                regards

You need to plant any horeseradish in tubs as it's invasive....but I'm sure you know that.

Hi Insy just found your thread. Great to hear about what you are doing on your allotment, hope it continues to go well for you. With winter coming on (too fast) you will be able to catch up with your college work - well until spring

                    Enjoy.

                            Hey guys/Ladies

Lol Round 1 of Insy vs Messy Allotment didnt go to great :P Messy Allotment won that round

But im back for Round 2 and im doing good so far :P been at it last few days, ive stopped witht he beds/holes and im dealing with the brambles/trees and all the other rubbish that grown round the edges.

I didnt get time to finish the second bed so my garlic didnt get planted but believe it or not my onions and shallots survived and tbh they dont look to bad :P, i accidentally snapped the top of a onion when weeding and mate bite into it and it blew his brains lol.

I got some pictures so u can compare them and kind of enjoy atm its a complete mess :P i have piles of cut brambles/branches/twigs, piles of broken wood and logs, piles of dirts, pags of rubbish and grass a huge smashed windows i found in the grass.
