Pressure Treated Timber

Can somebody please put me out of my misery. Am I poisoning myself and my family be growing fruit and vegetables in beds edged with pressure treated timber? The timber is treated with Tanalith E, not the old CCA (Arsenic) treatment. This is a very confusing subject, a lot of gardeners ( some of them experts) say it is safe to use, the industry, obviously, say it is safe but there is also a group of people who advocate staying miles away from it.

To be honest, if I was starting off new beds now I would probably avoid the stuff considering all the controversy. The trouble is that it would be a lot of hard work to remove the timbers and soil and restart the process of setting up my garden, especially if it were completely unneccessary.

Any guidance?

Sorry, can't help but my raised beds are made with old railway sleepers - supposed to be a no no because of the creosote - doesn't seem to have caused any problems so far.
