Start by reading about it! That will give you information, ideas, and inspiration
Buy a certain magazine each month, and go to your library, they usually have a good gardening section. Once you've read a few books you can daydream (I mean plan) and get used to the basic techniques and jargon
Look for books with 'allotment' or 'vegetables' in the titles, as most general gardening books tend to concentrate on flowers
And you can have hours of fun browsing through previous threads on this forum
Best Wishes Geoff
im currently still on the waiting list for a plot of my own (fingers crossed this year!). While ive been waiting ive been reading lots of books, mags and of course this forum! this is so that i have a good idea of the basics about growing veg and about having your own plot. i cant exactly plan my plot till i know what i'll be working with, but i've got a good idea what kind of crops i want to grow. at the moment i'm just dreaming of all the possibilities!
