Just read the thread about the �120 lottie in Guernsey. A GC near us is offering allotments )70 sq m) for �500 per year.

Is there a rather civilised business opportunity out there? I suspect not amongst traditional alotmenteers as when the �500 one was mentioned in despatches at our committe meeting there were about 14 coronaries in the room.

Has anyone had any experience of anything like this elsewhere ?

our local GC is offering free lotty plots to schools - but they're too far away to make it work (20 mins drive each way would take up all our Garden Club time), so they've given us �200 of free vouchers to spend instore instead
