Shed advice please..

I have to write into the council with a request to be able to have a shed on my plot and not sure what I should include in the letter??
I guess many on here have done this before, so how have others approached this?

I would pull a "can't do without a shed" ... because of :

a) some disability (can't carry tools up there every day)
b) lack of transport ( being car-less seems to count as a disability these days)
c) promise it will be tidy and nice to look at

Thanks Two Sheds there was a letter in our local Gazette from a neighbour of our plots saying the cars parked on road outside could cause an accident so am going to include that, also as your point says if I can store my stuff on the plot then I wont have to carry tools so I will cycle much more eco friendly

When I had to get permission for our shed, I had to basically just say I would like to put up a shed, the size and that it was wooden too ...... so it was in keeping with the rest of the allotment.

It seemed just more of a paperwork exercise as we have a choice of putting up a shed, or a greenhouse, or a polytunnel, but only one of them

The main reason councils ask for information on sheds is so they know it's for allotment us only and of a reasonable size. You'd be surprised at the number of people who want to rent a plot, build a garage and run a car repair business or have a storage facility for their building trade business
