  • OMG that's an allotment?

I posted this on the before & after sticky as well, just a few pic's of my "new" allotment, somehow I don't think the after photos will be along any time soon!

We were told it "would be a challenge" I guess that's challenge as in, building the great wall of china, landing on the moon, raising the dead!

It's twenty foot wide with "scrub" the other side that we can use if we want and about 110/120(ish) feet long. So far I have managed to hack a path about half way through the middle, plan being to find both ends and work my way out to the edges from there. I think there will be several large bonfires over the next couple of months. On the upside I've found three apple trees so far and have "seen" a few more from a distance.

    This may take a while.

    Graham.

Good luck Graham, you've certainly got a big 'challenge' there *eek*
You might make bit if money selling firewood by the look of it...

Slow and steady wins the day though. Try and plant up any bits you manage to clear to keep your enthusiasm bubbling, bought in plants are great if you've no time for sowing.

And keep the piccies coming - we LOVE to see transformations

WOW! I bet there are plenty of surprises in store for you in that jungle. Good luck with it, and as Sarz said, slowly does it, and please report back on your findings.

Wow, that will take some clearing! It makes me feel sooooo much better about mine
The best advice I had was to clear a bit, cover it with cardboard weighted down and top with manure. Keep repeating as you go along the plot. I did this on several beds and now have potatoes growing in them.

Middle pic? I thought that, but it looks like it might be in a box, that bit.

                    This'll sort it.
