Compulsory purchase

Does anyone know of a council that has made a compulsory purchase order to obtain land for allotments?

Sefton council in Merseyside relocated an allotment site to make way for development. The new allotment is very regimented with uniform sheds and paths. Dunningsbridge Road.....google it!

I think EmB means the other way around - CP land to provide allotments but I don't know of any I'm afraid.

and thanks to you both. Yes I did mean the other way. My parish council may need to compulsory purchase land in order to provide for a lonstanding demand for allotments and wondered if anyone has any experience of it ie how lenghty, was it successful etc. I have a government booklet so I know the theory of the process but just wondered what it was actually like in practice.
