Unknown Plant

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this plant is. It has been found on a friend's plot and they did not want to dig it up not knowing what it is.

Any help appreciated.

I don't know what it is, but I'm sure I saw pictures of the same sort of plant in newspapers last year.

It is a Thorn apple or wild datura plant, often grows on newly disturbed soil. Sadly it has no uses as it is totally poisonous - but interesting plant nonetheless.
