just got back from the lottie after a harvesting trip .Some scumbag has taken one of my two atlantic giant pumpkins.neither were ready to harvest and both were in excess of 40 kilos,they would need to have carried it over 400 yards over two fences to get it out as we have the gates overlooked constantly by the local nosey (but useful ) neighbour.hope they choke on it! I am presently sitting at home moulding a wax doll and sharpening up about 300 very long pins mwhahahahah!

That'a awful Snakeshack, with a pumpkin of that size...ya can't blame kids.

I have a small apple tree in my garden which HAD 17 apples on it (yes, I counted them ), it now has only 6 on. I wouldn't mine....but I know who nicked them (next doors nephew's). They were no way near ready. I only had 1 apple on last year (first year of fruiting) so I was very excited to have 17 this year...but revenge is sweet...they had reeeeeally bad diarrhea the following day

I symapthise with you - we have a thief on our site. She blatently nicks stuff in the evening - mostly strawberries and raspberries. We can't chuck her off until someone gets a photo of her doing it .

I'd be sooooo tempted to inject a few strawberry's with a strong laxative (mark which ya do though), she'll soon stop pinching them then

I feel your loss - last year was our first year on our plot an OH was so excited to finally have the space for a monster - it was looking really good (maybe not as huge as he's have liked mind) - but it vanished. We blamed local kids as it was probably the closest one to the gate. This years is much further up the plot and its definitely too large for some one to nick without a crane and a low-loader I think the key will be to harvest before halloween as i doubt the local youth wanted it for its wonderful soup and risottos!
