    can any grape advice on wether or not its a good idea to saw green manure in a bed reserved for sweetcorn and squashes? if so which one is the best to use?any advice welcome.g

    Green manure is best used in beds that are empty and are mainly used as a winter "crop" and are dug in before flowereing.

    A Green manure would not benefit any crops grown with it as it would just be competition, reducind the available nutrients and water and inevitably reducing yield.

      I sowed phacelia in my sweetcorn bed last (late) summer, it did a good job of keeping the weeds down, and is very easy to rip up again: green manure, phacelia - YouTube

        ^^ me too. I have also used buckwheat as it also grows very quickly.
