Finally...

Got to the top of the list and went to view my allotment this morning, a bit (lot) overgrown with brambles and a couple of trees but about 8 perch in size. Will post some pics as I go along.

You must be so excited, well done for making it to the top of the list. It's a year and a week since I got my hands on my plot after waiting for years. I can truly say it's one of the best things I've ever done. I love my plot, it's like a second home and once I'd cleared and dug the plot ( which took about 2 months) I managed to grow so much stuff and each and every plant was a bit like my own child. There were ups and downs but now in my second year I've learnt so much and know a bit more about what we like and what's not quite worth the bother and what we need alot more of because it was so gorgeous. The crown prince squashes, sweetcorn, leeks, cavello nero, parsnips, courgettes, blue lake french beans, flower sprouts, garlic, red cabbages,royal family sweet peas, spinach and kelvedon wonder peas were definitely the stars of last years show.

The forum has been such a great find and the people on it so supportive. Enjoy your new lottie, I'm chuffed for you

Well done! It doesn't look too bad and as long as you take it steady (as they've said above) then you'll soon have it under control. Think of all that lovely veg (and fruit too, perhaps!). Enjoy!

Thanks all, yes I won't be getting myself into a point of expecting to sort it out overnight, and I think once I've sorted the brambles and trees out couch grass will be one of the biggest problems, so I'll be digging it out a patch at a time.

Snow Chris? we don't hav e snow in Costa Del Cardiff...well a little yesterday but that soon thawed..

my anticipation finally paid off, every year, for the last 2, being ever the optimist, I've bought lots of seeds, started loads of plants, onion sets and chitted potatoes, usually to swap or give away, now as you say a bit of graft before, well for me anyway, March 17th (Paddy's day) when I always plant my spuds
