Hi has anybody any idea where I can get hold of a small amount of manure in sheffield please? I want to start some mushrooms off in the back of my shed but cannt seem to find anywhere that sell it!

Yes... if you collect and bag it yourself you have have as much as you want from them, BUT...... Its not rotted down so wants keeping a year or so.
If you only want a small amount i will let you have bit of my pile, as long as you come and get it.
We also buy Spent (used) mushroom compost and last spring i collected about 6 lbs that was still growing in the bags. We buy in bulk from our lottie society. What part of sunny Sheffield are you?

Im in north sheffield (Oughtibridge). I only need enough to line up 2 small washing up bowls. Its my first time growing mushrooms so I thought Id just try 2 small tubs first. Whereabouts are you?

Im as far away as you can get, Sharon, in greenhill, on the chesterfield end of of the city.
Most garden centers sell bags of sterilezed manure. B&Q - Search
Try asking on freecycle for a friendly local stable or horse owner.. most are happy to get rid of the stuff
