Got any pictures of the site Raine? Is there a river or canal nearby? Anything that could have caused the site to flood?

If you wanted to drain the new one, I think you would need to dig a soak-away in the lowest corner (big hole filled with hardcore/big gravel and then put in raised beds with the paths dug out and filled with gravel leading to the soak-away. It would be a big job! Also, there's a good chance that the soil will be acidic - water-logged soil often is in my experience, so you need to test it before you plant anything. On the plus side, drought ought not to be a problem...

oke doke-sounds like it might be a bit too much with work and the other plot too! Two sheds- i think it was you that mentioned decomposition (If i go back and check, I'll lose my reply!) do you think if it dried out it would be Ok? As far as i knoe there are no rivers and I'm afraid that despite being on this forum for about 4 years, i'm not sure how to post pictures but thanks for all your advice! has anyone else had to make this kind of decision/ What did you do?
