  • Hello

    Hi all,
I put my name down on a few allotment waiting lists in my hometown in January of this year, expecting to wait a few years to get any replies. Well I guess I am one of the lucky ones, I received an email in March asking if I was still interested. I visited the site and, believe it or not I had the choice of 3 plots! The one I picked was overgrown, the greenhouse had 4 panes of glass and a shed made out of pallets! It is now May and I have dug over 75% of the plot, replaced all the glass in the greenhouse. Planted tatties, peas and in the greenhouse tomatoes, courgettes, beet root, onions, leeks, cauliflower, cucumber. I have also been offered from friends slabs free of charge and the local Riding for the Disabled centre is allowing me to bag manure for free. I will figure out how to post a few before and now pictures to let you see the difference in the plot.
Sorry to ramble, but I am a complete novice and looking forward to reaping the rewards from my allotment this and in future years!!

Hi GSQ and welcome from me too. You may consider yourself to be a novice but it sounds as if you're well on the way to having a full allotment! Any questions - just ask!

          Welcome aboard, GSQ.

Congratulations on getting an allotment plot so quickly, also, I'm one of the nosey ones of which Nicos speaks and I demand piccies

Welcome to the Vine GSQ281061, just love the pictures of your lottie. Haven't you put some work in?

Now I know we are a friendly lot, and I see that VC is already abbreviating your name, but I'd love to know how you got the full length one! There has to be a story there. Let us know when we all get to know each other better

In the meantime, it is great to have you aboard.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

Wow, that's a lot of work! Making me feel quite lazy (well actually I'm being lazy) but loving looking at your work. Yes, I also want to know what the GSQ stands for. I'm thinking the rest of it is a date? Your birthday so we'll all remember it? If it is your birthday then you are probably as stubborn as my daughter whose birthday is the 27/10.
LIking all these photos today, they are so easy to load as well. We are on satellite internet due to being out in the sticks, so suffer from not being able to load photos.
