  • Water Butt - IBC Tank

    Hi

Im not sure where to post this question,,

Has anyone used these for collecting water?

I have a friend who has two of these Blue tanks and they say they are great and much better than the transparent ones.

These blue ones keep the water clear and algae free, they also dont crack after time or break in hard frosts because the plastic is UV stabilised.

I did read (on here I think) about covering a transparant IBC tank in pond liner to keep the water clear and protect the plastic,, this seems like a much better alternative to doing that.

    Thankyou

I had one down the lottie... it was white plastic and filled from the shed roof. One of the lads got them from a local scrapyard for 15 quid each, plus we gave him a tenner for bringing itin his transit van. Water was always clean and fresh.

Mine's just a normal clear IBC but I've not really found problem with algae growth in it.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Hi Green Shoots. I wondered whether you knew the EBay seller of these tanks, since you're from the same part of the UK. Just curious really!

£55 ! I'd not part with more than £20 at a push for one.
