So what is the council proposing to do about it?

Do people go and see their local councillors and make official complaints about the length of waiting list?

If you have a 25 year list have you thought about trying to get 6 people together in your area and petitioning the council for a new allotment?
All the relevant info is on the Landshare website including template letters etc and even a signup process to try and match 6 people in your area together if they have signe dup for it.

We have a smallish site. 50 odd plots. There are other sites in our council area with vacancies but ours is a lovely site and consequently very popular!

I fortunately have a plot.......I am very lucky but had to wait 6 years from 2004.

They have opened up another about a mile away which is full. Hopefully more are on the council agenda.

I see allotments continuing to rise in popularity as more people appreciate the benefits.

            Loving my allotment!

50, that's big not smallish. My site is 10 plots but there is one with only 4 nearby too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Hurrah, phoned again today and I am on the list!
They told me that I wouldnt hear from anyone unless there was a plot available (not even to confirm I was waiting!) so looks like I wouldnt of heard anything back anyways!! Apparently the waiting list is only about 18mths to 2 yrs which isnt bad at all. (probably coz my nearest site has 103 plots!).
