Well the signs for each bed are printed, just need to laminate them today.......or get someone to do it for me..........shame I can't get someone to do the weeding while I'm at work.......

Just a quicky........some of the onions are lying flat looking sorry for themselves. My plan was to lift them and leave them on the bed on clippings to dry under a cloche of some description. Or do I lift them and just have a bare patch?....decisions, decisions.

I'd lift, and put cardboard under them, and a cloche over them.

Get some companion plants in. When I entered the inaugural plot competition up here, I was given that advice and plugged some french marigold in the onion bed, the brassica bed and in the carrot bed. I won.

Cheers AP, my square foot bed is loaded with different flowers, not sure if that counts but will try and get hold of some more.

                  What were you thinking?

Sorry couldn't resist! I agree that you have a very tidy plot. Of course if you end up with some Odds and Sods - then you will just need to print up a

                  PERMACULTURE

sign. It's all about mix and match and letting the best vege's with the best survival rates win!

And frankly if you have as many plants as you say you do............how can they prove that some of them aren't what you say? Just remember on the day.

Oh I had rampant cosmos in my permaculture garden. Just mix and match for that too. And Allysum white - around the cabbages - you'll be doing that to confuse the white cabbage moths........

Luckily I won't be there to see the judges faces as it is on Monday morning..........It's the 1st time I have been pleased to be at work..............What will be, will be. At least I don't have any natural made ponds.

From what I've read, the judges draw up a shortlist of the best plots and revisit them a fortnight later to check that it wasn't a one-off effort
However, I'm sure your plot is always immaculate

I'd hate you to be caught out BM especially as you put so much time and effort into it

As the catogory is "Best Newcomer" they must expect some mistakes.

Having seen your latest photos all I would say is, move those grotty bricks holding down some netting on the path, in case a judge trips over them, lands on your brassicas and flattens the lot
