  • plot 63, here i come!

Just quickly logging in on my phone, I can't turn the computer on because I am tired, due to getting 90mins sleep last night.
Anyway, I have an offer of an allotment, its a 5 rod, they all are here approx 12.5mtr x 10mtr. Which is bigger than my entire garden, let alone the 4m x 4m I have for veg now!
Its £35 for the first two years, the 3rd year is free, then its £23.65 per year. Subject to inflation. That includes water, there is mains on sight.
I'm going to arrange to meet the council guy down there, hopefully tommorow!
I'm just a little bit excited!!

        Get in!

5 rod is enough to supply a couple easily, with a surplus to give away or use to barter for other stuff.
        Are y'oroight booy?

Well done. So I guess Santa will be getting a long list this year of things you would like. Cooker, kettle, comfortable chair or two, oh, and probably some tools.

                    I don't think thats expensive?

Congrats sounds great. 5 pole is a great size to start with, though I now keep eyeing up larger unkempt plots. Start a bit at a time and use cover to protect bare earth/ kill weeds. If you work hard over winter, you'll be ready for your first growing season. Though frozen ground will make digging harder.

That size plot around me is less than £8, free in the second year if you improve it.

Full 10 rod plots are £15!

On my previous site, plots larger than 10 rod were £11 odd

Unless, it's just exceptionally cheap in Wales?

It's £35 I think for a full plot. I know when I discussed it recently with the PC chair, they came around the plots recently and we were the only ones up there again, some plots haven't been touched at all. There are three half ones that look like they are about to be given up. I offered to take another one on, if they would charge me for a full one, split into two halves and was told they would charge me for two half plots as that was what they are. They wonder why people don't keep them going or take them on. But what do you do? Contest like AP and find yourself in a worse situation?
