I'd still go with the "I found money in the rubbish" one for the coffee cup and sweetie wrappers too.

You could pick them out, hand them out to the culprit and sweetly say "Thanks for trying to help me with my compost, but these just don't compost I'm afraid, here you go"... and hand them back!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

On our lottie we have a communal bonfire that's built up over the year. It's for woody stuff only and is burnt down on Nov 5th. However some lottie holders dump their plastic bottles/bags food wrappers and debris on it despite warnings.I caught one "senior" plot holder dumping the old bitumen roof from his shed. He had wheeled it around from home in a barrow, and informed me he been an allotment holder so long it was his right!!!Litter is awful and so unsightly. I find the state of our countryside so depressing with rubbish strewn roads. What is the mentality of folk who tie up their car litter and fling it out the window! Don't even get me started on dog poo !! Phew need a tea after that rant.

                That is outrageous!
                That can't possible be allowed!

You aren't supposed to burn nasty stuff on bonfires.

But would it be acceptable to burn the nasty 'senior' plot holders?

Bound to be bye-laws against that

That's just the sort of answer I would expect from a lazy Council official.

(and very similar to one we got about keeping livestock, to be honest )

LOL There is supposed to be a bye-law in Oldham which stops you having a bonfire on a Sunday.
Or it might just be one of those old wives tales...

Another answer would be: "It's against the insurance to have a bonfire, so you'll have to take your grumblies home to burn"

At least dog poo decomposes: plastic litter will stay for 100s, if not 1000s, of years.

I'm so green/smug that I take my dog poo home with me (it goes in the dog poo dalek)
