Was speaking to someone about the one at Broadway. They're moving it to be on part of Moston brook - and I think it'll have more plots than it has now. But due to the uncertainty lots of people aren't sowing anything there at the moment as they don't know when they'll be moving.

Oh right if they move to Moston Brook they will need security fencing I recon and it will come under Manchester not Oldham as it does now so people from Oldham need to find out what effect if any it will have on them because when I spoke with the woman in charge when registering she mentioned that they kept the plot open to people from Newton Heath only due to the fact of a mess up years earlier that saw the cross boundary issue.

Nice looking shed but is it an optical illusion or is the ship lap on the door panel upside down ?

Shows the boundary and it'll still be inside Oldham's patch. It's not Manchester til further up Broadway.

If its like when Granby Street got moved from Long Lane they'll get a lovely new site - and compo for leaving their old plots.

Looks like both panels either side of the door are upside down, they need swapping to enable rain to run off. Left panel should be on the right & vice versa.

So it will meen the same visa versa then which is not on, save for the tiny thing I'm on there is only the private one on Dean Lane in Moston all other allotments come under Oldham etc except Philips park however that is virtually maned by a full family I believe there are 20 plots with 17 run by members of one family the two people running our allotment have one of the none family plots there and they don't speak highly of it Mind you Newton Heath and Miles Platting always get a raw deal anyway.

We feel we get a raw deal too - our nearest allotment used to be one in Manchester but we weren't allowed to have plots there.

17 from one family?! All different households? In theory Oldham is one plot per household but some sites have multiple plots per household due to the days when there was no waiting list.

Councils are obliged to make more allotments if there is demand. But thats a long process. We have discovered though that there are lots of bits of land about that organisations would like to pass over the 'management' of ...

I'm just glad I managed to get this one even if there is an issue with access we have plenty of trees around for leaf mold and I'm happy enough to cart my food bits to compost I think the biggest issue I have is being roped into doing more for the garden club than my own plot I have gone half's with the shed as I was expecting to be potting stuff up but now it seems that the garden club want more of a tea hut even found myself asking for permission for a spot in the shed to store stuff think I've made a mistake that needs undoing in a positive way.

Could the wood planks could be removed then re-nailed otherwise like BM says the rain just isn't going to to run off the same.

Just get your half of the shed full!
Probably the coward'd way out but if you've paid for half and it's on your plot then ...

That's something that I can look at but at the moment I am thinking I have to take control back of my own time and space, as I like many took on an allotment not just to grow stuff but as a break from everything else however I feel the garden club have hijacked my time and even my half payment of the shed and I'm not enjoying the experience so not enjoying my free time because it isn't mine so I'm going to have to be selfish for a bit.
