  • Marching Orders

Well I spent the morning down on the allotment waiting for a new shed to be delivered. Whilst down there I was talking to the people who have the community garden area and was interested to hear that yesterday the guy in charge off the allotments for my area was down on site yesterday disguising the work that needs to be done by the community garden people and they where throwing round some ideas on the best way forwards and logistics anyway they where disguising the need for top soil and manure along with other stuff and where to put it all.

It appears that the guy in charge of the allotments suggested to the garden club that part of my plot be used to dump stuff or that they move me off the plot to enable them to do what was needed. The first suggestion would have meant my plot being walked all over.

Well I am pleased to say that the people in charge of the garden club told him where he can go, they told him how much work I had put in since getting my plot which only works out at half a plot when you consider how much I loose due to the concreted area they also told him how much support I had given them and also told him that it is me who has gone half with them for the shed and agreed to host it on the concreted area that could have had raised beds put on if I'd have chosen.

I am really annoyed that this individual could be so callous and am grateful to the people on the gardening club for telling him where to go. I've only been there sins Jan and it was my birthday yesterday and that was my planned present Grrrrrr I'm not happy.

Is there no communal carparking area?

Sounds mean using yours as a dumping ground.

No however that is one of the ideas they are now considering as you come in the gate there is waste area that they are looking to have as communal parking and as the topsoil and manure wont be there long thats what is now being considered. I'm just annoyed that he disgusted dumping me of the allotment behind my back.

It's not very nice being discussed when you're not there to stand up for yourself - but you have friends that did it for you That's great!

I would be "having a quiet word" with this guy's boss.

          In person. Face to face.

I want to have a word but don't get the chance to see him. Chances if I did have a word it will only make me look like a trouble causer and give him bullets. At least the people running the community garden put him straight and gave him his marching orders.

After being very angry about it, I would have said with a smile on my face, to the community gardeners - Well! How kind of him to organise some loads of dirt and whatever, for me to use on my plot, for my birthday. Tell him I said thanks!

Because, if it was on your plot it would be yours wouldn't it?

Sounds like you might need to have a look at the rules and regulations of the allotment to make sure you know how to combat him and his ways.

LOL that would have been ok if it wasn't for the fact that the other option was to kick me off the plot. There are no rules in place at the moment as the site has previously been left to run itself save for a rule about no fires and no tipping Ive combated the second one by dumping all my sods of couch grass on top of the old carpets and bricks I have dug out and chucked over the fence into the bramble area There description of him and his attitude have made me more comfortable about the people running the garden club and has also lead me to offer more support for what they are doing. They are putting rules in place at the moment and working out the rents per plots which are a lot fairer than the councils as they are counting mine as half a plot and addressing others who have basically set up on plots they are not paying for.

They have paid half to the shed and are getting a guy on today to help me put it up. So the big bosses comments the other day have backfired and worked in my favor now I've slept on it

Is it a private allotment or a council one?
                    Have you signed a tenancy?

What is behind the fence? Who owns that?

                      It sounds like it

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Chucked the couch grass a other weeds I consider as rubbish in the bramble area which is now covering all the real rubbish other plot holders have chucked there over the years so my kind of rubbish is better than theirs.

Ahhhhh NOOOOOOOOO It reads wrong sorry should have proof read it The carpets and bricks etc where already there dumped by previous people I dug out the top layer of soil which was infested with couch grass roots and other weeds. I mentioned that in the video I posted up. Sorry for the confusion...

It's council but as there have been no plot holders to mention for the past 5 years the rules that where in place have been totally ignored so the garden club are putting together a code of conduct which is welcomed by me.

Sounds like it's time for some rules so you can all enjoy growing things instead of people just making a mess.
Hope you get some new members who want to do things and enjoy the site.

I agree there has been no management there for a very long time it's just gone to pot but the council haven't helped from their side either I have informed the garden club leaders that I would be sorting space for myself and my stuff in the shed and that I would be spending time sorting my plot out. It received a rather cold response from them as I don't think they where expecting not to get all their own way but hey I have only been there for 3 months and in that time it has been difficult to set a happy medium until today I'm hoping they don't get petty though as all I want is my own bit of space.
